Every Christmas we see the same saccharine stories, tropes and meaningless montages. And yes, while you can get meaningful gifts on eBay, it just didn’t seem right to talk about it. What felt right was talking about the people buying the gifts – those who are smart, cunning or sneaky enough to shop without putting in all the leg work.
